Behind My Brushstrokes

Each of my paintings represents a healing journey — a moment, an emotion, or an experience that needs to be seen and understood. When I walk in nature, I feel it speaks to me in a language beyond words, guiding me toward what needs to surface from within. Sometimes I recognize it immediately — a feeling, a memory, a truth ready to be expressed. Other times, I only understand it once the painting is complete, when the image has already told me what I needed to see.

My technique is rooted in the idea of connection and openness. I work with what is sometimes called Open Impressionism* — leaving small spaces between each brushstroke so that the background color becomes an essential part of the whole composition.

Digital paintings of a potted purple plant on a wooden surface, featuring circular magnified sections showing brushstroke details.

Sometimes, the color appears to me instantly, clear and undeniable. Other times, I sit quietly before a blank canvas, allowing the right tone to reveal itself — as if the painting itself is whispering what it needs to become.

For me, painting is both a dialogue, a danza and a meditation — a way of letting the inner world and the outer world meet, one brushstroke at a time.

with love,

The background isn’t just a setting; it’s the emotional foundation of the piece.

I am deeply intentional about choosing the background  colors. Each hue represents an emotion, a vibration — the energy I wish to evoke rather than the one I’m feeling in the moment.
